TIE Academy, Inc. — GETI Platform Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 19, 2026

Last Updated: February 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TIE Academy, Inc. (“TIE,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use our GETI learning platform and related services (the “Service”).

1) Scope

This Policy applies to personal information processed by TIE through the Service, including accounts, course hubs, briefings, videos, files, boards, watchlists, notifications, and AI features.

2) Data Controller and Contact

Controller / Business: TIE Academy, Inc. (Connecticut, USA)

Contact Email: [email protected]

3) Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories.

A. Information you provide

Account and profile information

Full name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), language preference (English/Korean), timezone, membership tier (Basic/Premium), and approval status.

Course and enrollment information

Enrollment requests, join code validation status, cohort/group tags, program selections, and enrollment approval/denial decisions.

Family and child profile information (Parent Accounts)

Child first/last name, date of birth, optional child email, and parent/guardian consent acknowledgements (where applicable).

Community and content you submit

Posts, replies, rich text, uploaded files (e.g., PDFs/images/links), discussion participation, and any other content you submit.

Support communications

Messages and emails you send to us.

B. Information collected automatically

Device and usage data

IP address, device/browser type, referral URLs, timestamps, authentication logs, and basic usage signals (e.g., “last login,” “briefing opened,” “course hub opened”).

We design engagement measurement to support community health and operations; we do not use it as grades or “student surveillance.”

C. Payment and billing information (via Stripe or similar)

Payments are processed by a third-party processor (e.g., Stripe). We typically receive limited billing information such as: Stripe customer identifier, subscription status, invoices/receipts references, payment status (paid/failed), and plan identifiers. We do not store full payment card numbers.

D. Third-party content and embedded services

YouTube embeds and external links may allow those third parties to collect data (e.g., cookies, device identifiers) under their own policies.

Market data (e.g., quotes) may be sourced from third parties (e.g., Financial Modeling Prep). We may cache quote results to reduce API calls and improve performance.

E. AI feature inputs and outputs

If you use AI features (e.g., GETI Copilot) we may process: your prompts/questions; related platform content needed to answer (e.g., briefings, course materials, thread content); AI responses generated for you; and limited logs for safety, quality, and debugging.

4) How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to provide and operate the Service; deliver core features (briefings, course hubs, watchlists, notifications); process payments and manage subscriptions; maintain safety, security, and community integrity; improve the Service; and comply with law.

5) Legal Bases (EEA/UK Users)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data based on contract (to provide the Service you request), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), consent (where required), and legal obligations (compliance and recordkeeping).

6) How We Share Information

We may disclose personal information to service providers (e.g., Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare, email services, AI providers, and operational analytics tools) acting as processors; to other users when you post or upload content to shared spaces; and to legal/safety recipients where needed to comply with law or protect rights and safety.

7) Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for session authentication and security, saving preferences (language, timezone), and basic analytics to understand usage and improve the Service. You can control cookies through browser settings, but disabling cookies may limit functionality.

8) Children’s Privacy and Parent/Guardian Consent

The Service is designed for adult account holders (18+). Parents may create Child Profiles for enrollment/dashboard organization. In the United States, COPPA and, in Korea, PIPA impose specific rules and protections for minors.

We aim to collect minimal child information (name and date of birth; optional email). We may require parent/guardian acknowledgement/consent records when adding a child below relevant age thresholds. Parents/guardians may request access, correction, or deletion of child profile information by contacting us at [email protected].

9) Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, maintain account and entitlement history (including time-based access rules), comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you request deletion, we may delete or anonymize information unless we must retain it for legal, security, or billing record obligations.

10) Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11) International Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where we or our service providers operate. We take steps to protect transfers as required by applicable laws.

12) Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California (CCPA/CPRA), EU/EEA (GDPR), and Korea (PIPA) provide different rights and definitions (including rules on children’s consent).

To exercise rights, email [email protected]. We may request verification to protect your account and privacy.

13) “Do We Sell Personal Information?”

We do not sell personal information in the conventional sense. If laws in your jurisdiction define “sale” or “sharing” broadly, we will provide required notices and choices where applicable.

14) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and change the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
